More Than a Walk
At Leash & Laurel, dog walking and pet care are built around a simple belief: a good walk should support more than just physical exercise.
We provide calm, structured and purposeful walks and pet care, tailored to the individual needs of each dog. From carefully considered small-group walks, to 1:1 walks for dogs who need a quieter approach, and Puppy Foundations for those just starting out, every service is designed to provide the right balance of exercise, enrichment and positive experiences.
Our aim is to help dogs explore, sniff, learn, build confidence and enjoy being dogs — while giving owners peace of mind that their dog is being understood and cared for as an individual.
The reason behind the approach
This way of working comes from personal experience.
I have lived with a highly reactive dog who found many everyday situations difficult, including other dogs, unfamiliar people, separation and resource guarding. With the support of a behaviourist, we worked hard to understand her behaviour and find ways to help her feel safer and more settled.
That experience taught me that there is so much more to a dog's behaviour than what we see on the surface. A dog who pulls, barks, avoids, struggles to settle or reacts to the world around them isn't simply being "difficult" — there is usually a reason behind the behaviour.
It changed the way I think about dogs and, ultimately, the way I wanted to provide dog walking.
I believe dogs deserve to be understood rather than simply managed, and that walks should work with their individual needs rather than expecting every dog to fit the same routine.
That philosophy sits at the heart of everything I do at Leash & Laurel.
Calm over chaos. Connection over control. Purpose over just putting in the miles.
